Kont Bilişim, a Turkish distributor of prestigious technology brands, has diversified activity by investing nearly $2 million into security technologies.
Established nearly a decade ago, Kont became one of the major technology distributors in Turkey. Widening its focus, the firm started to invest in security technology in cooperation with giants such as Samsung and Bosch, according to Ercan Tekyıldız, sales manager of Kont.
“The sales of our security technology products rose to around $10 million last year from $2.5 million in 2008,”
Tekyıldız told the Hürriyet Daily News & Economic Review during the 13th International Security, Fire, Emergency and Search and Rescue Fair held in Istanbul. He said the rising popularity of smart and green residential projects means security and surveillance systems have become “must haves.” He said the current growth of the construction sector would pave the way to increase the sales of security systems both in Turkey and neighboring countries.
Tekyıldız told the Daily News that in addition to projects in Turkey, Kont had installed security surveillance systems for 14 posts on the borders of Azerbaijan.

Bosch is also marketing its security products in Turkey through Kont.
Kont is interested in Turkish construction companies investing in northern Iraq and Central Asia, in order to “expand the hinterland of security surveillance systems” such as closed-circuit television.
